Deze set van twee cd’s is gewijd aan het Lutherse liturgisch repertoire, gaande van Martin Luther tot Heinrich Schütz. De eerste cd bestaat uit composities bedoeld voor de Lutherse liturgie: een Deutsche Messe, Deutsches Magnificat, Deutsche Passion (de eerste Duitse meerstemmige Passie van Joachim von Burck) en zelfs een reconstructie van een Deutsches Requiem, met dezelfde teksten als zij die Brahms later gebruikt voor zijn Deutsches Requiem. De tweede cd presenteert een reeks motetten, gerangschikt volgens de liturgische kalender, van de advent tot het feest van de Heilige Drie-Eenheid. Deze polyfone stukken zijn geschreven door een brede waaier aan componisten, waaronder Martin Luther, Andreas Hammerschmidt, Michael Praetorius, Joachim von Burck, Christoph Bernhardt, Heinrich Schütz, Thomas Selle, Melchior Franck, Caspar Othmayr, Michael Altenburg, Samuel Scheidt, Johann Hermann Schein en Johann Walter. De organist Bart Jacobs rondt het programma af met een aantal orgelstukken van zeventiende-eeuwse componisten.
